Nigerian music sensation Burna Boy has fired back at fellow artist Eedris Abdulkareem over remarks made in an upcoming podcast episode, asserting that Abdulkareem’s criticism is baseless.

In a viral teaser clip from The Honest Bunch Podcast, Abdulkareem can be heard chastising Burna Boy for his statement alleging that no Nigerian artist helped him in his career.

“You hear someone like Burna Boy say no one helped him in Nigeria. That’s stupid talk,” Abdulkareem said.

Abdulkareem’s remarks sparked a swift response from Burna Boy, who took to his verified X account to express his disdain. Although the post has since been deleted, Burna Boy did not mince words in his reaction.

Burna Boy shifted the focus from Abdulkareem’s criticism to his own past health struggles, specifically referencing the financial support he received during his kidney transplant in 2022.

In a fiery Pidgin English retort, Burna Boy said: “Abdul Kareem abi wettin dem dey call your papa, I no blame you. I blame people wey donate money for your hospital bills. And I wish say you be person wey fit dey enter the kind places wey I dey, make we use mistake jam.”
