The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Yusuf Buratai, has deployed Special Forces to Benue, Nasarawa and Taraba state over the recent killings allegedly by Fulani herdsmen.

Speaking during the distribution of farm implements by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh, at the military ranch situated in Giri, in Abuja, Buratai said the Army would restore peace and order in the affected States

He said once there is peace in the country, it would be easier to develop the agricultural sector and boost the nation’s economy.

Buratai said: “We are asking our Special Forces Brigade to ensure that they are deployed across the county at short notice to ensure they stem the menace between herdsmen and farmers.
