President Muhammadu Buhari has celebrated the life and achievements of Elder (Prince) Ajose Adedayo Aderemi, JP, who turns 70 years old on February 2, 2023.

Elder Ajose, a veteran firefighter, spent a greater part of his life battling fire accidents and reducing the suffering of countless people.

“The President salutes Elder Ajose for charting a course of service to the public,” said Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

Elder Ajose’s dedication to his calling as a firefighter and his commitment to serving the public were evident in the skills he gained and the many accolades he received throughout his career.

After obtaining a B.SC (Hons) in Business Administration from the University of Lagos, Elder Ajose continued to build himself professionally and academically.

He acquired certificates in Fire Basic Training, Advance Certificate Fire Academy Federal Fire Service, and many other fire-related courses from institutions in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Elder Ajose’s hard work and commitment saw him rise through the ranks of the fire service, from a firefighter to the Director of Fire Service in Lagos State, where he served from 2008 to 2012.

He received many accolades during this time, including the “Best Fire Service in Nigeria” award from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in 2009 and the “Best Response Director of the Lagos State Government” in 2012.
