The prestigious BRIT Awards 2024 nominations have been announced, and African music stars are prominently featured among the nominees for the UK’s biggest music awards show.

Burna Boy and Asake have both been nominated for the coveted International Artist of the Year award, alongside global music icons such as Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue, SZA, and Lana Del Rey.

Nigerian sensation Rema has received a nomination in the International Song of the Year category for his acclaimed track “Calm Down,” while South African singer Tyla is also nominated in the same category for her viral hit “Water.”

Adding to the African representation is Cameroon-American singer Libianca, recognized for her breakout song “People.”

The nominations span various genres, with other notable nominees including J Hus, Dave, Stormzy, and Jorja Smith.

The public has the opportunity to vote for the winners of the genre categories on Instagram, providing fans with a chance to show support for their favorite African artists.
