Chaos erupted early Monday morning when a private vehicle careened off the Otedola Bridge on the bustling Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, leaving four passengers injured. The dramatic incident, which unfolded in the pre-dawn hours, has once again thrust the notorious stretch into the spotlight.

Details remain scarce, and authorities have yet to confirm any fatalities. However, all four occupants reportedly suffered injuries in the crash. As of now, emergency response teams have not reached the site, though quick-acting bystanders and first responders were spotted working to free the trapped passengers from the mangled wreckage.

The accident has snarled traffic along the expressway, with backups growing as drivers slow to navigate the chaotic scene. Eyewitnesses described a tense atmosphere as shouts of panic mingled with the sounds of twisting metal.

This latest crash comes hot on the heels of another deadly incident at the same location, where a gas-laden truck spiraled out of control just weeks ago, erupting in a fiery explosion that claimed at least six lives. Monday’s plunge has reignited concerns over safety on the Otedola Bridge, a critical artery for commuters and commerce.
