In a significant enforcement action, officials from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), led by Minister Nyesom Wike, have sealed the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Headquarters at Wadata Plaza in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

The closure occurred at 2:06 pm today when FCTA staff arrived and locked the entrance gate to the PDP’s secretariat, preventing access to the party’s administrative offices. This measure is part of the FCTA’s recent crackdown on properties with revoked land titles due to unpaid ground rent, which was announced on Sunday.

According to the FCTA, a total of 4,794 land titles were revoked because of non-payment of ground rent spanning between 10 to 43 years. The PDP’s national secretariat is among the affected properties targeted for reclamation.

This enforcement follows similar actions taken against other entities, including the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), whose Abuja office was also sealed for unpaid ground rent. The FCTA has emphasized the importance of compliance with land rent obligations within the Federal Capital Territory.

The sealing of the PDP headquarters comes at a politically sensitive time as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections. The PDP has not yet commented on the closure.
