The deadly Boko Haram sect has unveiled another video reiterating their allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The video that appeared on social media sites on April 4 titled “Investigate” and was first released on March 31. The title alludes to Quranic verses 4:94 and 49:6, which read;

“O you who have believed, when you go forth to fight in the cause of Allah , investigate; and do not say to one who gives you [a greeting of] peace “You are not a believer,” aspiring for the goods of worldly life; for with Allah are many acquisitions. You yourselves were like that before; then Allah conferred His favor upon you, so investigate. Indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.

“O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.” The video, which included Arabic subtitles, featured masked Boko Haram fighters standing on sandy ground in front of the trucks. It is unclear if the masked people in the video include the leader of the group. Watch it below:

The deadly sect has denied any suggestions it would surrender after their leader Abubakar Shekau appeared in a rare video looking dejected and frail. Shekau, who was not seen on camera for more than a year, released an unverified video late last month and said his time in charge of the Boko Haram group may be coming to an end.
The group pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group in March 2015. Nigerian army has since then won back swathes of territory from the insurgents, liberating thousands living under Boko Haram control.
