Popular crossdresser Okuneye Idris, also known as Bobrisky, is currently being held at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos State, after spending the night in police custody.

Okay.ng reports that Bobrisky was transferred to the FCID after being arrested by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border on Sunday, as he attempted to leave Nigeria.

He arrived at the FCID at approximately 10 PM on Monday, following his detention overnight.

Confirming the detention, Mayegun Aminat, the spokesperson for the FCID in Lagos, stated that Bobrisky will remain in custody as the FCID seeks a remand order to keep him for further investigation.

The NIS had earlier identified Bobrisky as a “person of interest” due to recent public concerns. In a statement released on Monday, Kenneth Udo, the NIS spokesperson, confirmed that Bobrisky was intercepted at the Seme border while trying to exit the country.

“He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action,” Udo said.

The NIS also reassured the public of its commitment to maintaining professionalism in managing Nigeria’s borders and ensuring security.

Further updates on the case are expected as investigations continue.
