The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is preparing to formally welcome over 80,000 defectors from various opposition parties, as announced by Chief Benjamin Omale, Chairman of the Benue APC Unity Caretaker Committee.

“Very soon, I will officially receive over 80,000 decampees from various opposition parties into the APC. The mammoth crowd of supporters who have continued to show solidarity with Governor Alia, particularly in the fight against corruption, is commendable.”

This significant influx is seen as a testament to Governor Hyacinth Alia’s leadership and the party’s growing influence in the region.

Chief Omale highlighted that the arrangements to receive the new members are well underway, reflecting the public’s confidence in Governor Alia’s administration.

He stated, “Our party, the APC in Benue, is growing stronger daily, with thousands of opposition members defecting to join us.”

“I specifically applauded the Benue State House of Assembly for its decisive stance on judicial integrity, which saw the removal of the former Chief Judge of the state and for aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s administration and ensuring that Governor Alia’s mandate is protected.”

The Chairman praised the citizens of Benue for their steadfast support of Governor Alia, despite efforts by detractors to destabilize the government.

He noted that the overwhelming backing from both party members and the general populace underscores the trust in the Governor’s developmental agenda.
