The Bauchi State Executive Council has approved a total of N3,689,707,481.34 for furnishing and installing essential fittings at the newly built Bauchi International Conference Centre ahead of its official commissioning. Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Rt. Hon. Danlami Kawule, stated that the funds would be used to equip the Governor’s Banquet Hall, install wall paneling, lighting, sound systems, multimedia equipment, internet, and intercom services to ensure the facility is fully functional before the upcoming State Investment Summit in June 2025.

Additionally, the council approved several other projects under the Ministry of Housing and Environment, including: Renovation and remodeling of the residence of Bauchi’s first civilian governor, the late Abubakar Tatari Ali. Upgrading the tomb, library, Islamiyya school, and mosque in honor of late Abubakar Tafawa Balewa. The council also allocated N1.9 billion for infrastructure development, including construction, reconstruction, repairs, and erosion control across 44 rural communities affected by last year’s flooding.

Commissioner for Special Duties and Rural Development, Hon. Farouk Mustapha, provided updates on the progress of six road construction projects awarded last year, which are at different stages of completion. He also announced that 12 additional road projects have been included in the 2025 Rural Access Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) work plan.

Hon. Mustapha further noted that $33.7 million was initially allocated to RAAMP in 19 states before the World Bank expanded the project’s budget to $600 million, covering all 36 states and the FCT. Bauchi State is now awaiting its share of the funds to proceed with the additional 12 road projects.
