Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has voiced his strong opposition to the suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi by the Senate, reaffirming the state government’s unwavering support for the embattled lawmaker. Senator Ningi, representing Bauchi Central senatorial district, faced disciplinary action after raising concerns about the unaccounted N3.7 trillion in the 2024 budget.

Expressing his discontent during the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Bauchi, Governor Mohammed lamented the suspension of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator, describing Ningi as a beacon of truth. He emphasized his personal dismay over the situation, expressing solidarity with the lawmaker.

Governor Mohammed, also the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, pledged to explore avenues of support for Senator Ningi, emphasizing the importance of standing up for truth and integrity in governance.

“We will discuss privately to see what we can do to support him because I support whatever he is doing and that is our best position especially if what he saying is the truth,” declared Governor Mohammed.
