Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar, has approved the immediate disbursement of bursary allowances to students of Bauchi State origin.

The governor who stated this while inaugurating a 12-man committee saddled with the responsibility of disbursing the allowances urged them to ensure immediate disbursement of the sum of N166.9million which has been approved for the payment of 2015/2016 bursary allowances.

Represented by his deputy, Engr Nuhu Gidado, Governor Abubakar mandated the committee to come up with a comprehensive database of all ongoing students of Bauchi State origin alongside their bank account numbers and BVNs as the state government would subsequently use electronic means to pay students’ bursary allowances.
