The Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, is set to ascend the throne as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland, pending approval from the state governor, Seyi Makinde.

This announcement follows the passing of the 42nd Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, who passed away on Thursday.

As the next in line to the late Olubadan, Oba Olakulehin is poised to take on the prestigious role.

Governor Makinde confirmed the demise of Oba Balogun in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, revealing that the monarch passed away at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
