I Only Ask God For One Thing – Obasanjo

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has begged God to do something new in Nigeria in the coming year, 2015.

Addressing the crowd at the 2014 Ogun State Christmas Carol and Service of Nine Lessons which held yesterday, December 22, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, Obasanjo said Nigeria is in need of divine intervention.

The former president became a praise worship singer as he prayed through songs to God to intervene in Nigeria’s woes, PM News reports.

He said: “I and the governor have agreed that all what Baba Adeboye said here tonight is what all of us have said.

“There is no more word. But you will assist me to sing this song, Nigeria needs something new this time around.

“The song goes thus, Do something new in my life and do something new in this country.”

As Obasanjo continued in his song, the whole hall was said to have gone into jubilation as shout of “Sai Buhari” rent the air.

The Christmas message was delivered by the General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

In his sermon, he pointed out that only God can engineer a way out of the present predicament the nation is going through, advising Nigerians to seek God’s way which is the only solution.

The event which lasted for over five hours had in attendance popular spiritual leaders in the country who prayed for the State, the nation and also called on God to take control of next year’s general elections in the country for peace and tranquility to reign.

Also in attendance were traditional rulers led by State Chairman, Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Michael Adeniyi Sonariwo. Others were Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland,Oba (Dr.) Aremu Adedotun Gbadebo, the Olu and Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle.

Politicians, market men and women, various social, religious, cultural and political groups from across the State, students groups and artisans were also present at the event.
