Music artist Asake has issued a public apology in the wake of a stampede at his concert in London on Thursday night that left several people injured and hospitalized.

In a statement on Instagram, Asake, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, expressed his regret for the injuries sustained by concertgoers and promised to reach out to those affected.

“My heart is with those who were injured last night and caused any form of discomfort,” Asake wrote. “I pray you get well soonest. I am also in the process of reaching out to individuals.” He went on to apologize for the sudden end to the concert, saying, “For my people who enjoyed the beginning of my performance, I am sorry that it was cut short.”

According to Lambeth Police, a large crowd tried to enter the Brixton O2 Academy without tickets, leading to the stampede.

Eight people were taken to the hospital, with four still in critical condition due to crushing injuries. Others were treated at the scene.

Asake stated that he was still trying to gather information about what caused the disruption at the entrance to the venue.

Despite the incident, Asake expressed his love for his fans in London and looked forward to seeing them again in the future. “Thank you for your unbelievable love London. I love you too much! I’m looking forward to seeing you again in a bit!” he wrote.
