Aregbesola, describing change as a gradual process, said what Nigerians need at the moment is to double their support for government in finding lasting solutions to myriads of challenges confronting the nation.

He admitted that the nation is going through serious economic challenge, believing that after this period of relative hardship, Nigerians will experience good life, joy and happiness.

According to him, “Change does not come easily, change comes generally with pain and it is this pain that will turnout for good.

“There is no doubt about the fact that we are going through serious socioeconomic and politic of unrest and it is my fervent belief that after this period, Nigerians will experience good life, joy and happiness

“The period we are in now is what could be referred to as ‘labour of child delivery’ because when a pregnant woman is about to deliver, she goes through unaccountable pains and agony, but after this period, happiness take over with celebration.

“I am of the opinion with strong conviction that after this painful period, glorious era of joy, happiness, plenitude and prosperity will come.

“I appeal to Nigerians to exercise patience with the present government as the process of change is difficult and usually accompanied with huge pains but ends with succour, abundance, comfort and prosperity” he stressed.

Governor Aregbesola who expressed gratitude to the leadership of NATE for honouring him, however charged the association to be more proficient and productive in their professional calling.

Earlier, the Chairman Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering, Dr. Daud Abubakar while presenting the Plague of Honour to Mr. Governor, lauded the state government for prioritizing physical infrastructural development above other things.

Dr. Abubakar said it is on record that the achievements recorded by the Governor remains first of its kind in the history of the state, imploring the state government not to relent in its effort at taking the state to a better destination.

He said, “We commend you Mr. Governor on the notable development your administration brought to the state of Osun, it is on record that this laudable infrastructural development is first of its kind in the history of this state.

“The courageous sacrifice you made while in school without fear of sanction cannot be wiped away, and will continue to linger in the minds of well-meaning Nigerians who know the importance of technology in national development”.
