The Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) has commended the actions of the military and Southeast governors in restoring peace in the Southeast geopolitical zone.

The party gave the commendation in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Tosin Adeyanju, on Sunday in Abuja.

The party commended the military for the ”Operation Python Dance II” exercise and the Southeast governors for proscribing the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The statement read in part: ”The party, however, noted that while military exercise was a normal practice all over the world, proper education was needed to sensitise citizens so as not to misconstrue how the exercise works.

”We want to believe that the lack of information and tension in the region gave room for the violence that occurred between Nigerian military and members of IPOB.

”No individual or group should threaten the corporate existence of our nation because what binds us together as a country is greater than what divides us.”

It, however, appealed to government to engage aggrieved interest or groups to douse tension in the land, stressing that ”it is always better to jaw jaw than to war war.”
