Popular Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie, has disclosed that fellow actress Mercy Johnson is currently battling a serious illness, adding that she has decided to forgive her longtime colleague despite past grievances.

Angela made the revelation during a recent Instagram Live session, where she emotionally addressed the issue with her fans. According to her, the nature of Mercy’s illness is severe—one she “would not even wish on her enemies.”

“I got a news recently that Mercy Johnson is not feeling well, and I honestly feel for her and want the best for her,” Angela said during the live broadcast. “The kind of sickness they told me is not something I will ever wish on my enemies. Today, I have forgiven her and will no longer say anything that has to do with her.”

The actress, who had previously been outspoken about her fallout with Mercy Johnson, said the decision to let go of the grudge was influenced by her spiritual father, who advised her to embrace forgiveness.

However, while expressing sympathy, Angela urged Mercy to make peace with those she may have wronged, warning against using religious phrases that are not backed by genuine character.

“The truth is that I have forgiven her, but she should go and apologise to people she has offended,” she said. “Apologising to people you have wronged is better than using church words that you don’t represent. Mercy did a whole lot of things in the industry, and today I am forgiving her.”

Angela emphasized that the issue between her and Mercy runs deep but chose not to reveal the full details. Still, she insisted that Mercy Johnson must take responsibility for her actions.

“From the depths of my soul, I have forgiven her. People don’t need to know the issue, but if I say Mercy is evil, she is evil, but I have forgiven her,” she concluded.

The revelation has sparked widespread reactions online, with fans expressing concern for Mercy Johnson’s health and praising Angela for taking the high road.

As of press time, Mercy Johnson has not issued a public response regarding the health claims or Angela’s comments.
