In a significant breakthrough, the Anambra State Police Command has arrested two men suspected to be involved in the kidnapping and murder of a female banker in Onitsha. The victim, known as Ifeoma, was abducted on January 13, 2025, and despite her family paying a ransom of N14 million, she was ultimately killed.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesperson, disclosed that the victim was held captive for several days before her family was contacted for ransom. After the ransom payment, her captors still refused to release her, and her body was later found on Nnobi Road with her eyes bound.

The suspects, Monday Egbe (32) and Kenneth Nnoga (28), were traced to their hideout in a neighboring state and arrested on May 28, 2025. They are now being interrogated to uncover more details about the gang’s modus operandi and to facilitate the arrest of other accomplices.

Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu assured the public that the police command remains resolute in its mission to safeguard residents and bring criminals to justice.
