The prestigious Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) celebrated its 2023 edition with a star-studded event held on Sunday night.

The ceremony, which honours exceptional television, film, and entertainment performances, showcased the finest talents across Africa. Bimbo Ademoye, Tobi Bakre, and Osas Ighodaro emerged as some of the standout winners of the night.

In a fiercely competitive category, Bimbo Ademoye claimed the coveted ‘Best Actress in a Comedy Drama, Movie, or TV Series’ award. Ademoye’s outstanding portrayal in the series “Selina” saw her triumph over industry heavyweights Funke Akindele and Mercy Johnson.

Her captivating performance left audiences in stitches and solidified her status as a comedic force to be reckoned with.

Tobi Bakre, known for his remarkable acting skills, secured the title of ‘Best Actor in a Drama’ for his compelling role in the series “Brotherhood.”

Bakre’s ability to bring depth and authenticity to his character captivated viewers and earned him well-deserved recognition.

Osas Ighodaro, a talented actress known for her versatility, claimed the accolade of ‘Best Actress in a Drama’ for her exceptional performance in the captivating series “Man of God.”

Ighodaro’s portrayal of a complex character left an indelible impression on both critics and audiences, cementing her reputation as one of Africa’s most talented actresses.

Comedian Broda Shaggi was also among the winners, triumphing in the category of ‘Best Actor in a Comedy Drama, Movie, or TV Series’ for his role in the highly acclaimed series “Inside Life.”

Known for his impeccable comic timing and unique style, Broda Shaggi’s win was a testament to his comedic genius.

The AMVCA 2023 ceremony dazzled spectators with electrifying performances from music icons Tiwa Savage, Iyanya, and Spyro. The event was skillfully hosted by the charismatic Zozibini Tunzi and the ever-charming IK Osakioduwa, who entertained the audience throughout the night.
