Nigerian artist, Aisha Mohammed Buba Mashio has dismissed online rumors suggesting she is planning to marry Mai Mala Buni, the Governor of Yobe State.

The rumors, which originated from a now-deleted post on X, claimed that Governor Buni was set to marry the talented young painter.

The post, which purportedly referenced a Facebook announcement, read: “I saw on Facebook that my Gov Mai Mala Buni is getting married to the talented young painter @Sumayyah_mashio. I wish them a happy married life. Please take care of this young lady, Your Excellency, sir. One of the biggest projects of his second tenure. Allah bada zaman lafiya.”

In response, Aisha took to her X page on Friday to debunk the claims, sharing a picture of the supposed wedding invitation and labeling it as “fake news.”

She urged the public to disregard the misinformation, emphatically stating that she is not getting married.

“Disregard any fake news, I AM NOT GETTING MARRIED!!!” Aisha wrote.

Aisha Mohammed Buba, known professionally as Sumayyah, is a self-taught artist and a 200-level student of Public Administration at Yobe State University (YSU).

At just 20 years old, she began painting as a hobby at a tender age and officially turned her passion into a business in 2021.
