A mother in the United Kingdom, is fuming after airport security took away her breast milk that she prepared to feed her baby.
Actress Alyssa Milano, 42, vented her frustration with airport security on Twitter.Milano was at the Heathrow airport in London, when bottles of pumped breast milk were confiscated as she passed through security.
Milano had no choice but to pump new breast milk while flying on a plane. Milano needed the milk for her 7-month-old daughter Elizabella Dylan.
Milano was told that she would be allowed to carry bottles of breast milk if her baby flew with her. Airport security tested her shampoos if they were safe, but they threw the milk in the trash.
Heathrow security officials said that without a baby present, the government requires that all liquids in hand luggage to be less than 100 ml per bottle.
“They said that they would let the pumped milk through if I had the baby with me. Why would I need to pump if I had the baby with me? Why can you test my toiletries to make sure they are safe but you have to throw away my breast milk?” Milano wrote on Twitter.
