Nigeria has taken a significant leap forward in public service delivery with the unveiling of Service-Wise GPT, an AI-powered assistant designed to revolutionise how government operates. This groundbreaking technology, announced by Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, at the Global Government Summit 2025 in Singapore, promises to streamline administrative processes, enhance efficiency, and ultimately improve the lives of Nigerian citizens.

At its core, Service-Wise GPT acts as an intelligent guide for civil servants, providing instant access to a wealth of crucial information. This includes vital documents such as Public Service Rules, Statutory Instruments, Regulations, and Guidelines. Imagine a world where drafting policies, composing official memos, and conducting in-depth policy research are no longer time-consuming tasks. Service-Wise GPT aims to make this a reality.

The potential impact of this AI-powered tool is truly transformative. By automating mundane administrative tasks, Service-Wise GPT frees up valuable time for civil servants to focus on more critical aspects of their roles. This not only boosts productivity but also ensures greater compliance with regulations and facilitates faster decision-making across all levels of government.

“Applying Service-Wise GPT would save time and reduce administrative task hours for civil servants, improve compliance, ensure regulatory adherence, enhance productivity, facilitate faster decision-making across ministries, and ultimately improve service delivery,” Walson-Jack emphasised during her presentation.

Currently in its beta phase, Service-Wise GPT has already shown immense promise. A 2025 research study evaluating its effectiveness revealed overwhelmingly positive results. A remarkable 73% of users reported saving 2-3 hours daily, and an impressive 90% of users recommended the tool for its efficiency and ease of use. These findings paint a picture of a future where government operations are more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric.

This initiative aligns perfectly with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration. By embracing technology and leveraging its power to improve governance, the Nigerian government demonstrates its commitment to modernising public service and delivering better outcomes for its citizens.

Service-Wise GPT represents a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards a more efficient and effective government. It serves as a beacon of hope, promising a future where technology empowers civil servants to serve the public with greater speed, accuracy, and dedication.
