The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has confirmed a power outage affecting several areas within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a statement issued on Tuesday, AEDC attributed the outage to a technical fault on the feeder serving the affected locations.

The distribution company assured residents that its technical team is working diligently to resolve the issue and restore power as quickly as possible.

The statement read: “Dear valued customers in Central Area, Wuse Zone 3 & 4, Nicon Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Grand Square, Rochas Plaza, MTN Switch Yard, Millennium Park, Statement Hotel, Police Station Wuse Zone 3, Kings Care Hospital, Abidjan Street, Abacha Estate, Labour House, Stanbic Bank, GT Bank, First Bank, Ikwerre Street, and surrounding areas.

“This is to inform you that the power outage is due to a technical fault on the feeder serving these areas. Our dedicated technical team is working tirelessly to restore power as quickly as possible.”

This development comes weeks after parts of Abuja experienced a prolonged two-week power outage. That disruption was due to the relocation of the 33KV DC Airport Feeder and 132KV Kukwaba-Apo Transmission Line Towers along the Outer Southern Motorway.
