Adidas have marked Lionel Messi’s Ballon d’Or triumph by presenting the Barcelona star with a new platinum football boot.

Messi fought off long-term adversary Cristiano Ronaldo and team-mate Neymar to win world football’s biggest accolade for an unprecedented fifth time in Zurich on Monday.

Having beaten Cristiano Ronaldo to the Ballon d’Or, 2015 saw Lionel Messi get back on top.
