Adewole Adebayo, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has delivered a scathing assessment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Speaking during an Iftar gathering in Ilorin, Kwara State, Adebayo labeled the government as a “failure” in addressing security and socioeconomic challenges.
He criticized the rising poverty, unemployment, and insecurity, stating, “Tinubu is the current champion of disgrace—unable to feed the poor in a land of plenty.” Adebayo also condemned the perceived lawlessness in the National Assembly and the political turmoil in Rivers State.
Highlighting Nigeria’s worsening conditions, he warned that without immediate intervention, the situation could deteriorate further. “In five years, our population will grow by at least 10%, yet there are no jobs, no food, no education, and no housing,” he lamented.
Adebayo also referenced former President Muhammadu Buhari’s controversial advice for Nigerians to “go and farm” without providing necessary support, further underscoring the systemic failures in governance.
“These leaders are not speaking to the people. Tinubu seems more like the President of France than Nigeria,” he remarked, emphasizing the disconnect between the government and citizens.
