ABU Zaria Wins Huawei’s Global ICT Competition, Beats 146 Teams from 36 Countries

The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), located in Zaria, has emerged as the victorious team in Huawei’s ICT Competition for the 2022-2023 Global Final, held in Shenzhen, China.

Okay.ng has learnt that, this year’s competition marked the first physical event since 2019 and attracted the participation of 80 universities worldwide.

A statement released on Huawei’s website read,

“The Huawei ICT Competition 2022-2023 Global Final has successfully concluded in Shenzhen, culminating in a fierce battle between the top finalists from 146 teams representing 36 countries. Prior to the final showdown, over 120,000 students hailing from more than 2000 universities across 74 countries and regions had taken part in the ICT Competition.”

The competition’s seventh installment reached its grand finale with the triumphant representation of ABU Zaria.

Maryam Jimoh Ololade, Haruna Anas, Ahmad Abdullahi, and Elayo Aliyu Isah were the outstanding individuals who represented Team ABU and Nigeria.
