Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has commiserated with the Nigerian Army over an attack that occurred at the Milverton area of Aba on Friday evening, involving men of the Nigeria Army and some criminal elements.

According to reports, the attack on the Army outpost caused panic among motorists and passengers, who scampered to safety. Unfortunately, a soldier was killed, and another was wounded and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

Governor Otti commended the officers and men of the force for exercising restraint in the face of the unprovoked attack. He specifically thanked the Commander 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Brigadier General O.O. Diya, for his prompt intervention and for ensuring that peace continues to prevail in the city of Aba.

The Governor called on the general public to remain calm and advised residents to go about their lawful businesses without fear. He also urged residents to cooperate with relevant security agencies by providing them with useful information to help fish out the perpetrators of the attack.
