The Abdulsalami Abubakar National Peace Committee for the 2015 General Elections is meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja.

The committee which is headed by the former Head of state was responsible for the peace deal which was signed by Buhari and former president Goodluck Jonathan in the buildup to this year’s poll.

The meeting between the peace committee and Buhari is coming just five days after Jonathan visited the president and it might be connected to the quest by Buhari to probe the administration of his predecessor and recover all the stolen monies.

Apart from Abubakar, other attendees at the meeting include the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III and President of the Christian Association of Nigeria Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.

Also in attendance are Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Cardinal John Onaiyekan, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association Mrs. Priscilla Kuye and Senator Ben Obi.
