With 51 per cent score, Azeez Balogun of the Kingston High School emerged as the second runner-up. He received N400,000 cash, a laptop and a medal.

His Chemistry teacher, Mr. Obiora Onyilagha, got N70,000, while his school received N70,000 worth of books.

Third runner-up, Jeremiah Onu, of the FESTAC Senior College, who scored 40 per cent, received N300,000, a laptop and a medal.

His Chemistry teacher, Mr Oluwaleke Animashaun, also got N60,000 and a plaque; while his school received N60,000 worth of books.

Six other top 10 winners received N50,000 each.

They are Henry Chukwuemeka of the International School University of Lagos, Obinnaya Anyanwu of the Eletu Odibo Senior High School and Kenechukwu Okwunze of the Apostolic Faith Secondary School.

Others are Light Attah of the Wellspring College, Modestus Amaechi of the Starfield College and Ebube Iwuchukwu of the Mill Bank Hall Secondary School.

This year’s edition commenced late due to the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak, which frustrated the resumption of schools across the country.

The competition, initiated by PZ Cussons Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of PZ Cussons Nigeria Limited, is open to SS2 and SS3 pupils in all public and private schools in Lagos State.

At the PZCCC maiden edition last year, 16-year-old Emmanuel Onyekachi, of the Miketoy College, Ikotun, Lagos State, won the competition.
