The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said they are yet to be officially informed of the death of the Late APC Gubernatorial candidate, Abubakar Audu.

INEC’s Deputy Director of Publicity, Nick Dazang, said  “APC has to do proper notification and accompany it with the certificate of death issued by a medical doctor.

“Once the commission is notified, it will look at relevant clauses of the 1999 Constitution as amended, the Electoral Act 2010 as amended and also the constitution of APC itself”

The death of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Kogi elections came as a shock to many political observers.

Questions have arisen, regarding the possibility of elevating the running mate of the Late APC chieftain, to the Governorship candidate of the party, in Kogi, but the risk and fear of failure might stop that move.

Audu was buried, even as rumours of his resurrection were making waves in some quarters.
