The Kogi State University, Ayangba, has expelled 49 students for poor academic performance, and 19 others for examination malpractice.
According to a statement issued by the Registrar of the university, Yakubu Abubakar, in Lokoja on Sunday, some students also had their admission withdrawn for failure to register within the stipulated period and wrong entry requirements and that the affected students cut across all the faculties.
He stated that Prof. Mohammed Abdulkadir had been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of the university to take over from Prof. Hassan Isah, whose tenure expired on October 12.
