Federal High Court in Rivers State has been rocked by an explosion which occurred outside its premises.

The blast reportedly occurred near the court, sitting in Port Harcourt, the state capital, today, July 9, 2015.

Security operatives are said to have flooded the area to maintain law and order, according to Vanguard.

Presiding judge of the court, Justice Lambo Akonbi this morning dissolved 22 local government councils in the state saying that the decision of the Rotimi Amaechi administration to go ahead with the conduct of the council elections despite a court order asking all parties to maintain status quo was a flagrant abuse of court process and disregard for rule of law.

No casualty was recorded in the explosion.
