Last month, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed that it might have to declare the former Borno governor, Ali Modu-Sheriff wanted due to his failure to honour the commission’s invitation since April 23rd.

Modu-Sheriff, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (but formerly in the All Nigeria Peoples Party and later the All Progressives Congress) governed Borno State from 2003 to 2011.

Yesterday he finally responded to the EFCC invitation and submitted himself to their Headquarters in Abuja at 6pm.

The former governor is being investigated over his tenure as Borno governor and the N300 billion which the state received during his time.

Only last Monday, the commission had also quizzed the former Adamawa governor Murtala Nyako who arrived the country last weekend.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Modu-Sheriff was in the office of the commission being questioned as at 9pm last night.
