The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has announced that it will officially launch its campaign for the forthcoming local government elections on Tuesday. The launch will feature a formal presentation of candidates along with the handing over of party flags at the APC State Secretariat in Ogba.

APC Publicity Secretary, Mr. Seye Oladejo, disclosed in a Saturday statement that the campaign has been decentralized across the three senatorial districts of Lagos East, Central, and West. Due to its large size, Lagos West has been split into two zones to ensure comprehensive campaign coverage.

“The flag-off ceremony will be witnessed by party chieftains and elected and appointed officials of the party across the three tiers of government,” Oladejo said. He further noted that the party had earlier directed local government leadership to establish Local Organising Committees (LOCs) to drive the campaign to all parts of the state, ensuring effective and massive mobilization.

The campaign will emphasize the unprecedented achievements of the outgoing local governments, the timely social interventions implemented, and the APC’s promise to continue delivering progress in line with its philosophy. Oladejo urged voters to perform their civic responsibility on election day.

He added, “The campaign will end a day before the elections in accordance with the extant laws.”

The APC candidates for Chairmanship, Vice Chairmanship, and Councillorship across 20 Local Government Councils, 37 Local Council Development Areas, and 377 wards were selected during primaries held on May 10.
