The Federal Government has disowned a fake recruitment letter currently circulating on social media, warning Nigerians, especially job seekers, to be cautious and not fall victim to fraudsters.

In an official statement released on Tuesday by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, the Board’s Secretary, AM Jibril, clarified that while Presidential approval has been granted for recruitment into the four paramilitary services under its supervision, the actual recruitment exercise has not yet commenced.

The Board reiterated that all genuine recruitment announcements would be made through national newspapers and other verified platforms and that no fees would be required at any stage of the process.

The statement reads: “The attention of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has been drawn to a letter in circulation on social media with respect to its recruitment process.
To this effect, members of the public should be wary of recruitment racketeers who may try to take advantage of unsuspecting job seekers to rob them of their hard-earned resources.”
