Inter Milan has announced the appointment of Cristian Chivu, a former player and Champions League winner with the club, as their new head coach. He will be replacing Simone Inzaghi, who was recently let go after a string of disappointing results.
Chivu, who previously managed Parma, expressed his gratitude and excitement about returning to Inter. “I thank the club, staff, players, and fans for having believed in me and our project,” Chivu stated on Instagram. “Together we overcame obstacles and wrote a page (in Parma’s history) which will remain in my heart.”.
Parma confirmed Chivu’s departure, acknowledging his positive impact since taking over in February. Inter Milan is set to face Monterrey in the Club World Cup at the Rose Bowl next week, marking Chivu’s first challenge as the team’s head coach.
