In a vivid display of Yoruba cultural pride, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun stepped out in traditional attire to participate in the Ojude Oba Festival held in Ijebu Ode on Sunday, June 8, 2025. The festival, which honors the Awujale of Ijebuland, is a significant cultural event that draws thousands of participants and spectators.

Governor Abiodun’s appearance was captured in a video posted on his official X platform, where he was seen wearing a flowing dansiki accompanied by a matching Yoruba cap. His graceful presentation highlighted the elegance and richness of Yoruba fashion and tradition.

In his message, the governor extended warm congratulations to the monarch and the people of Ijebu Ode, saying, “We are getting set as we step out to join our people in celebrating this year’s Ojúde Ọba Festival — a timeless tradition that showcases the rich cultural heritage, unity, and pride of Ijebuland.”

He also expressed his anticipation for the festivities, noting, “As always, we look forward to honouring our revered monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON and celebrating with the good people of Ijebuland in grand style.”

The Ojude Oba Festival, which takes place annually on the third day after Eid-al-Adha, is a cultural highlight for the Ijebu people, celebrating their history, unity, and the leadership of their paramount ruler.
