On Tuesday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senators from Osun State publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu as their preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

The endorsement was formalized in a joint statement signed by Senators Kamarudeen Oyewumi, Olubiyi Ajagunla, and Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun West, Central, and East respectively.

The senators convened earlier in the day to discuss the President’s performance and unanimously agreed to support his bid for a second term. They commended Tinubu’s administration for its governance reforms, economic policies, and infrastructure development initiatives. The lawmakers specifically noted the administration’s success in enhancing national security and achieving a significant reduction in food prices, which they said demonstrated effective policy implementation.

“This endorsement is not just symbolic—it reflects our deep confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to deliver on the promise of democracy,” the statement declared. The senators emphasized their unity, stating, “The Osun PDP Senators’ Caucus is united and unwavering in its support. There is no internal dissent; we stand as one.”

They called on President Tinubu to sustain and accelerate his developmental efforts for the welfare of all Nigerians. This endorsement comes amid other political developments, including the postponement of Tinubu’s visit to Abia State and the scheduled ministerial scorecard review on May 29.
