Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Tinubu, has hinted that the North is gearing up to make a decisive political move ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Now serving once again as the spokesperson for the Arewa Elders Forum, Baba-Ahmed made this known in a recent interview clip circulating on social media. He emphasized that no presidential hopeful can secure victory without significant backing from the northern region.

He further revealed that the North is expected to determine its political direction within the next six months, stressing the need for a government that genuinely understands and addresses the region’s challenges.

“We need leadership that recognizes and solves our problems,” he said. “And for anyone planning to manipulate the elections, they should think twice—it could have serious consequences for the country.”
