Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has inaugurated the reconstructed 46.3-kilometer Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Akara-Alayi-Abiriba road in Abia State, praising Governor Alex Otti as a “miracle worker” and an exemplary leader. Obasanjo, recalling the road’s previously “hellish” state, commended Otti’s commitment to improving the lives of his people and urged Abians to “make good use of him.”

Obasanjo emphasized that Otti’s performance demonstrated that even dire situations could be transformed with effective leadership. He lauded Otti’s dedication and his ability to assemble a strong team, stressing that a leader’s quality transcends political party affiliation. He advised the people of Abia not to “change a winning horse” when the time for elections arrives.

Governor Alex Otti, in his address, stated that the road’s completion signified his administration’s commitment to delivering quality projects and eliminating corruption. He highlighted the project’s impact on reducing travel time, improving safety, and lowering transportation costs for residents and businesses across several local government areas.

Otti further emphasized the road’s role in enhancing security, as it eliminated criminal elements who previously exploited its poor condition. He reiterated his administration’s zero tolerance for substandard work and corrupt practices, affirming his dedication to positive change in Abia State.
