The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has cautioned residents in a broad swathe of 19 states to prepare for impending heat stress, okay.ng reports.

The warning specifically targets the North-Central states of Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Oyo, Kogi, Nasarawa, and Benue, as well as the Eastern states of Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, and Cross River, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Additionally, parts of the South-West and coastal areas within Taraba, Adamawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Zamfara, and Sokoto are also identified as vulnerable. NiMet’s morning alert indicates that elevated temperatures combined with high humidity over the next three to four days could cause significant thermal discomfort.
