Green Africa, the Lagos-based value airline, has marked a significant milestone by acquiring its first owned aircraft, an ATR 72-500 registered as 5N-GAB. This acquisition, partly funded by a Naira debt facility from Access Bank, signals a crucial step in the airline’s mission to expand affordable and reliable air travel across Nigeria and West Africa.
The incoming aircraft, manufacturer’s serial number 852, is poised to enter service following customary regulatory approvals. This development comes at a pivotal time for Green Africa, which launched amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and has since established a reputation for punctuality and affordability.
