Suspected gunmen have abducted Mrs. Blessing Adagba, a prominent aide to Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru and the coordinator of the Ngbo Central Development Centre in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state. The unsettling incident reportedly took place in the early hours of Thursday, sending ripples of concern through the state.

Confirmation of the kidnapping came on Friday from the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu.

According to Ukandu, the police force is taking the matter with utmost seriousness, and the specialized Anti-Kidnapping Squad has already been mobilized and deployed to actively pursue the rescue of Mrs. Adagba.

He expressed confidence that the squad is working diligently to ensure her swift and safe return. Mrs. Adagba’s role as coordinator of a development centre, an initiative designed to bring development closer to the grassroots, underscores her importance within the local government structure.
