From Premiere to Cinemas: ‘Labake Olododo’ Opens Today

Iyabo Ojo’s highly anticipated Yoruba epic, “Labake Olododo: The Warrior Lord,” begins its nationwide cinema run today, following a glamorous premiere in Lagos on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025.

Directed by Biodun Stephen, “Labake Olododo” tells the story of a powerful female warrior in a Yoruba kingdom, exploring themes of loyalty, power, and leadership. The film, produced by Fespris Production and FilmOne Studios, features an all-star cast led by Iyabo Ojo in the titular role.

The Lagos premiere, held at Filmhouse Cinemas IMAX, Lekki, was a resounding success, drawing a large crowd of industry figures, celebrities, and film enthusiasts. The event featured a “Inner Warrior” themed green carpet, celebrating the film’s core themes. Guests were treated to a cultural experience, with a selection of traditional food and drinks.

The film boasts a massive cast of Yoruba Nollywood heavyweights, including Fathia Williams Balogun, Ebun “Olaiya Igwe” Oloyede, Eniola Ajao, Mercy Aigbe, Toyin Abraham, Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, Ibrahim Chatta, Wumi Toriola, Binta Ayo Mogaji, Kunle Afod, Saidi Balogun, Muyiwa Ademola, Adekola Tijani, and Yinka Quadri. Additionally, Bimbo Akintola, Olarotimi Fakunle, Hafiz “Saka” Oyetoro, Tayo Faniran, Olumide Oworu, Nkechi Blessing, Anthony Nwahiri, Scarlet Gomez, Ayo “AY” Makun, Debo “Mr Macaroni” Adedayo, and Broda Shaggi also feature.

“Labake Olododo: The Warrior Lord” is now showing in cinemas across Nigeria, offering audiences a powerful and culturally rich cinematic experience.
