During a recent interview, Chief Sara-Igbe made bold claims about the political landscape in Nigeria, particularly pointing fingers at former Governor Nyesom Wike as a key factor in major political shifts.

According to Chief Sara-Igbe, former President Goodluck Jonathan’s failure to secure a second term was largely due to Wike’s actions.

He attributed the defection of Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation, along with five other governors, from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a pivotal moment that cost Jonathan the election.

“Former President Goodluck Jonathan lost his second tenure because of Wike. It is because of Wike that former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, left with five other governors from the PDP. And Jonathan lost the election.”

When asked whether President Bola Tinubu could withstand similar circumstances, Chief Sara-Igbe expressed concern that Wike’s influence could create further political friction.

He warned that Wike could potentially turn the West against Tinubu, stating, “Mr. President is supporting whatever Wike is doing. If the president is truly sincere, then Wike should be removed from his position. That would be a genuine sign of sincerity. Wike is the cause of many of the problems affecting the Niger Delta and the country as a whole.”
