Google has released its 2024 Year in Search report for Nigeria, highlighting the most popular searches and subjects that captivated the attention of Nigerians throughout the year.

According to the report, politics and economics dominated search trends, with the US elections, the new national anthem, and the national grid topping the news category.

In entertainment, Nigerian music stars Shallipopi and Khaid emerged as fan favorites, with Boy Spyce’s “I Don’t Care” leading the most-searched songs list.

Nigerians were curious about prominent figures like Bobrisky, who led the trending personalities (Nigerian) list. Internationally, searches featured global figures like Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, and Kai Cenat. In sports, rising stars such as Nico Williams and Cole Palmer also gained significant attention.

The 2024 music scene saw the rise of Shallipopi and Khaid, with “I Don’t Care” by Boy Spyce leading the trending songs list.
