Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria and the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has underscored essential lessons for Nigeria following the recent U.S. presidential election, where Donald Trump emerged as the President-elect, defeating Kamala Harris of the Democratic Party.

In a statement reacting to the election, Atiku emphasized the importance of electoral integrity and credibility, urging Nigeria to learn from the transparent process that characterized the U.S. election.

“The lesson for us in Nigeria is the integrity of the process that ensures a credible outcome,” Atiku stated.

He expressed hopes that the Trump administration would remain committed to supporting free and fair elections in Nigeria and globally, promoting democracy as a fundamental right.

Atiku also congratulated the American people, commending their dedication to democratic principles.

“I extend my warm congratulations to the people of the United States, whose unwavering faith in the power of democracy and the sanctity of the ballot has once again shown the world the true might of the people’s voice,” he said.
