The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has commenced the loading of petrol from the Dangote Refinery located in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos, Okay.ng reports.

In a significant move to enhance the availability of petroleum products across Nigeria, ten trucks initially drove into the refinery’s gantries, where their compartments were filled using advanced computerized systems.

The state-of-the-art facility boasts 86 gantries, allowing for the simultaneous loading of 86 trucks, with 40 gantries dedicated exclusively to dispensing petrol.

This development is a strategic boost for NNPC Ltd. in its mission to distribute petroleum products efficiently throughout the federation.

The number of trucks accessing the gantries is expected to increase substantially, with projections of hundreds more in the coming days.

Devakumar V. G. Edwin, the Vice President of Dangote Industries Limited, highlighted the refinery’s impressive capacity to discharge 54 million liters of petrol per day.

He noted that this capability would not only meet domestic demand but also save the country significant amounts of foreign exchange by reducing the need for fuel imports.
