The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has advised traditional rulers in the state to avoid victimizing opponents or those who didn’t support their enthronement and be fathers and kings to all without prejudice.

Fubara urges Rivers Monarchs to work with all sections of their subjects for peaceful coexistence, harmony, and development by Partnering with the State Government for peace and accelerated development.

He presented certificates of recognition and staff of office to two first-class traditional rulers, King Marcus Oduma Woyike and King Ndamzi Nsirim, in Ikwerre and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas, accordingly.

Fubara buttressed that their recognition is an opportunity to support good governance, protect their people’s interests, and forgive past offenses. He encouraged them to work with stakeholders, synergize with other traditional rulers, and relate with their subjects to understand their needs better.

The Governor reminded the traditional rulers that their positions are meant to serve the people selflessly and do good, and assured them of his government’s support to enable them to succeed in their responsibilities.
